Dear forum members, I have a problem and would have asked for your help !

I have bought a relatively new Schaerer Siena 2 at auction on Ebay. Unfortunately a mishap happened during transport or to the previous owner.
I noticed during the first functional test that it is not possible to obtain hot water via the steam nozzle. The water's been sluicing out everywhere but where it should be. In addition, the steam nozzle was easy to remove.
In and of itself I am not the screwdriver, because I am neither technically interested nor technically gifted. But since I suspected that the damage was mechanical, I was brave and removed the warming/storage plate.
I think that my premonition was correct, because a hose with a connection piece, which can be screwed onto the steam nozzle without any problems, is lying loosely in the housing.

After several unsuccessful attempts to screw the connection piece and the steam nozzle together, I have now given up and turn to the specialists here in the forum. The thread on the connector seems to me to be too short. Or is there a trick how I could screw the two parts together properly ? The worst thing would be if I had to disassemble the machine !

Had someone had to deal with the same problem and was more successful than me ?

>I also have a second problem. How can I remove the lower brewing piston from the brewing group? It should already be quite contaminated (I get the message almost every day that the brewing group is to be cleaned).

Beauty greetings from Austria

Dismounting the brewing piston:
With the Multitool pull off the lower brewing piston from the friction piston (the thing with the spring inside) and rub the thin plastic ring open on one side over the lower wheel of the brewing piston.

Now push the brewing piston upwards through the cylinder, if necessary turn it so that the teeth of the two parts fit into each other.

Hot water pipe:
Take pictures of the problem. Have the same machine as WMF Ecco and could compare if necessary.
Possible would be a broken thread from the fitting or also that the pipe is bent up and therefore the connection has no more hold.

Thanks for the quick answer !

>I should be able to disassemble the brewing group.

I have a little problem with the pictures I shot. My camera cannot be used for macro photography. You can guess on the pictures what is shown, but not more.
Therefore I will try to describe the parts. The screw-in connection looks like this - http://www.reichart.de/product_info.php/in...banschluss.html - the thread is 3 mm "long". The hot water steam pipe should probably not be damaged after it can be screwed relatively easily onto the screw-in connection. Just behind the thread there is a ...valve in the pipe ? ...which is obviously also functional. The pipe is only continuous in one direction.

I have never had the feeling that the two screw connections touch each other during the countless screwing attempts. The problem seems to be the housing bushing construction...

I don't fully understand the problem description.

On the one hand you say "a fitting. which, as I have noticed, can easily be screwed onto the steam nozzle".

Then "after several unsuccessful attempts to screw the fitting and the steam nozzle together".

Then "During the countless screwing attempts I have never had the feeling that the two screw connections touch each other.".

So it can be screwed together or not, and to what extent does the housing feed-through interfere?

The non-return valve in the pipe I know so far only integrated at the outer end, in the round outlet nozzle.

Excuse me for describing the facts in such a misleading way.

The hot water pipe can be screwed onto the screw-in connection exposed in the housing when removed. However, if I try to screw the hot water pipe through the opening in the housing onto the connection as intended, this becomes a mission impossible. Somehow the thing is spitting itself...

Should the hot water pipe normally be screwed to the connection piece through the housing opening without any problems ?

The valve is, as described by you, in the front in the tip, the "something" described by me is a seal (in daylight you can see a lot better).

I still don't understand the difference between screwing the two parts together separately or through the opening. The threads are not suddenly different, at the most they could be that you cant the parts somewhere during the attempt.

The angle connection must of course be easy to rotate on the hexagonal part compared to the rest, otherwise it must be replaced. Is there perhaps the problem?

Mag because I have never completely removed the outlet pipe, but always with the bracket which is in the housing.

If you want to disassemble the bracket but here are exploded views:
Schaerer Siena Spare Parts
Don't let the ceramic valve marked on page 22 confuse you, this has only the Siena 1, your Siena 2 but then the two solenoid valves as on page 46.

Just remember to empty the bean container before you remove the housing top, otherwise the contents will spread in the machine.

I have now removed the housing and dismantled the bushing. I have put the parts individually on and photographed. The metal ring is fixed in this two-piece plastic housing and has a small nose (90° angle to the lug). This nose fits exactly into the small notch of the steam pipe. The lug of the metal ring limits the mobility of the steam pipe. Exactly because of this small nose it was not possible to screw the connection angle and the steam pipe through the housing opening. I can't say for what the gasket fell out when opening the plastic housing (perhaps for damping ?).

In my understanding I would have to screw the connection piece onto the steam pipe fixed in the plastic housing on the metal ring. But for this I would have to bring down the connection piece of the plastic line somehow. But how? I'm gonna need power to remove this part. Am I supposed to? Will I be able to close this connection again afterwards? Or is there a trick how I can separate the two parts without effort ? Or do I have to disconnect the other connector of the hose ?

In which format do photos have to be uploaded ? I always get an error message (jpg with 1,42 MB)....

Okay, now we come much closer to the whole thing.

The sealing ring in the bracket serves to keep the pipe in place and doesn't turn back again and again.

The parts can be screwed together either by removing the hose or by placing the connection on the pipe and screwing it onto the pipe with a spanner on the hexagonal piece, the hose stays where it is because the connection is rotatable in itself.

If you want to loosen the hose connections, you have to push the "loose" metal ring strongly towards the connection piece and pull the hose out with slight jerking and exertion of force.

To reconnect, simply push the hose in as far as it will go, it is automatically sealed and locked by the built-in O-ring and barbed hook mechanism.

Edit: If you want to upload images, the best way is picr. de
With the built-in image function I've already fought, has undefinable misbehaviour. The same is unfortunately true for the personal messages function of the forum.

Thanks to the helpful description I was able to screw the two parts together with the fork wrench. It was difficult to thread the steam pipe back into the housing properly, but with a little bit of intuition it worked.

The brewing group has already been disassembled and can now finally be cleaned and lubricated properly.

ANKS for the support and the patience of the angels !!!
