Prima Donna DeLuxe won't recognize descaling

Have run through full descaling TWICE

I've had this machine for a long time (close to ten years?). Love it! But it is getting a bit persnickety in its old age. : )

Recently said it was time to descale. No problem. i've done that many times. Ran through the process but when I got to the step where it usually has you load up some fresh water, runs through a quick cycle with just that water and then tells you that you are good to go? THIS time it simply went right back to the flashing "descale" message.

I assumed there must have been something that didn't work with the descaling process (never happened before but there's a first for everything). So I did the entire process (with descaler) a SECOND time and --- same thing. I tried a third time with just water (going through the slow descaler process) --- same thing.

Basically, the machine seems to no longer be able to "move on" to the last step (a rinse through with clean water). It's like it is stuck in an infinite loop!

For the record -- i'm not handy, mechanically inclined, etc. Hoping there is just a "hold button ABC for one minute to override the message" type of solution (rather than "take it apart"....).

thx!

Craft has a golden bottom.
I think there is a mistake here regarding the flow meter, also called flowmeter in the coffee vernacular.
Remove the rear panel using a Phillips screwdriver (for the screws) and remove the five mark piece large white Behählter, pay attention to the hoses. This box has a bayonet fitting. Clean, check the connections of three cables for traces of oxidation. Clean everything and especially the hoses.
