Hello together,

my Krups EA8010 is now leaking, which means that water is leaking on the underside. In addition, the appliance always hisses quietly after preparation. I think that several gaskets are no longer in order and would like to replace them.
It would be great if you could briefly describe to me which spare parts I (probably) need and which equipment I should have ready.
If there are already instructions and/or good tips, please let me know.

many greetings
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

>first welcome to the forum :-)

>You can find all the instructions, pictures and tips in the respective sections, so just browse a bit and torture the search function (a bit of initiative is already required...).

Other only to say gibt´s that there is not the huge amount of poetry you have to or could exchange yourself. It is much more important that after opening the machine (there is a very well described and illustrated manual for this here - in my opinion only the dismantling of the lid is tricky) you first try to circle or determine the leakage.

The "hissing" noise you described after the end of the actual brewing process actually indicates that residual water remains in the brewing chamber and slowly boils there - but of course that can only be a guess. The drainage valve may be responsible for this, but as such it can't actually provide for the puddle of water under the machine.

I assume that several things come together. I've only had XP-series devices so far, but they're almost identical in construction (correct me if that leads to an outcry from the experts *g*). One of them had a defective gasket underneath the thermoblock (press-ram-shape gasket) and the brewing piston seal(s) was usually replaced as well. The drainage valve should also be revised or, at best, replaced. You'll find more than a lot of information on this here in the forum.

For dismantling you should definitely get an overlong Torx bit, otherwise you won't be able to loosen the screw behind the bean container. Apart from the T10, T15, T20 bits, standard tools are sufficient.

LG, good luck and have fun,

Micha
