Long-term experience report

I am extremely dissatisfied with the product Impressa S90 The year of manufacture of the machine series no.: 200110030005008 is 10/2001. The machine is cleaned by us according to the Jura regulations and after 50 container fillings with new Claris filter cartridges provided. For us the mistake is almost always the same, namely the frother for the milk does not work. Since the beginning of the purchase, in addition to the maintenance costs for filters and cleaning cartridges, additional repair costs of approx. 160€ per year are incurred. This year the machine was 3 times for repair on:
1. On 14.01.2010 for 199€
2. On 10.10.2010 for 69€
3. On 04.12.2010 for 130€
Total I spent this year 388€ only for repairs. When I asked Jura how it could be that, despite the guarantee promise, the repairs were more or less successful, I was told that there would be annual repair costs for the car and that the car would have to be inspected every year. Here maintenance costs (filters, cleaning tablets) are equated with repair costs. It upsets the customers when they're obviously considered stupid. If one had such exorbitantly high repair costs for every electrical appliance in the household such as dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, freezer, dryer etc., nobody could afford such an appliance.
I must urgently advise against buying a Jura machine after these long-term experiences.

Costs for descaler and cleaner are pure maintenance costs, which result with each coffee machine, independently of the make.

Repair costs can be saved if the machines are thoroughly overhauled approx. every 1.5 to 2 years (for Jura: remove brewing unit and replace seals). Instructions for these tasks, which are easy to handle by anyone who does not have five thumbs on each hand, are often found in the net.

Deficient milk foam can in most cases be traced back to insufficient cleaning after foam preparation, which is also independent of the make of the machine.

All in all so no reason to attack a single make like this.

(btw: i have had a S9 law since 2002 with currently about 15,000 references)

the machine is already 9 years old.
if that happens ok after a year, but after such a long time and daily operation!

I had the same problem with the nozzle. There was always something about it and I couldn't find the reason. But in the end it was my error: the milk foam nozzle can be dismantled into 5-6 parts. One should know that even the upper plug has to be removed and cleaned. Each seal, each small part is important and also the proper reconstruction of the nozzle: everything must be plugged in properly. After that everything just works again!

Tip 1: I disassemble my nozzle completely, take an old toothbrush and clean it properly with it. Then I blow into all the openings and see if all the milk lumps are really out.

Tip 2: After each coffee, simply run water through the milk nozzle.

Tip 3: make sure that the coffee beans are not too greasy.

I have 2 juras in my house: one almost 2 years, one over 3 years. Never had to go to maintenance. Also other friends who are enthusiastic about law.

biggrin.gif My Jura has been running smoothly for 5 years now! We've heard of problems from friends before! However, the machines often look like you don't even want to drink coffee!

If the S90 does not make milk foam, it is definitely due to improper cleaning. If you forget to clean the complete milk system with the upper steam nozzle only once, the machine will no longer produce foam. Very important is to unscrew the upper steam nozzle completely, this works best if you remove the silver cover completely. A further source of error could be that the machine is too little cold and possibly a wrong degree of hardness is set, so the flow heater occupies itself and the temperature is no longer sufficient for foaming. I am a Jura factory service technician and we have machines with 60000 cups that if cleaned clean will still run perfectly now.

alsoo..i'm amazed...well i don't have such a high-end machine...only
an Impressa E40...but this model hasn't been produced since 2006 as far as i know...i've already flirted for a new one...but why...
my, for my single household perfectly sufficient ...but i'm not sure if i'm going to have a new one anymore...but i'm not sure why...
my, for my single household completely sufficient ...I've owned it forever..has moved several times no was never disassembled in customer service or the like..just kept it meticulously clean by me - run maintenance program and decalcify everything with the prescribed parameters...correct bean hardness degree grinding size..and runs and runs.-for me the beetle among the Juras....
- i think less is sometimes more....well of course i have to note fair enough
that i am a pure coffee-slurfer latte & co...is me latte...but these machines are of higher quality therefore also more extensive to treat i think...but if I would have to spend such enormous sums for maintenance ..I would become teetrinker .....
so Summa ... I will decide if my oldie times the temporal blessing me again for a Jura .... ph34r.gif
