Nivona CafeRomatica 840 or DeLonghi ESAM 3000

Hello,
I am an absolute newcomer to fully automatic coffee machines.
For a long time I have researched on the Internet what could be a suitable device for us. In the end I came to the decision that we wanted to buy a DeLonghi ESAM 3000 B for about 300,-- EUR.

So today we went to the dealer and asked for the mentioned device. This is probably no longer available, it can only be ordered via various online retailers. Now the question came for what I would use such a machine. We drink at least 6-8 cups a day, not cups, coffee. The dealer said, one or the desired DeLonghi machine would not be sufficient, because it was designed for less (see also warranty with the 5000 cups).

Mir was then recommended a Jura or Nivona. After a longer conversation about my wishes we finally landed at the CafaRomatica 840 Marrone, for a proud 999,-- EUR. WOW, what a beautiful device! Now of course my doubts, does it have to be such a device? Our wishes aren't so huge:

- make good coffee
- hot milk for the children
- should cope with the above amount of coffee for a long time
- easy to clean
- no high standby costs
- possibility to use both coffee beans and ground coffee (because of volume when grinding in the very early morning) or
- quiet machine that allows grinding also in the very early morning without the whole family standing vertically in bed

So, think that's it. Hope you can help me.

I just introduced my Junior to Nivona 850 - he was thrilled!
The milk doesn't come out hot but warm as mentioned here - but immediately ready to drink without blowing
Have also purchased ours from our retailer - after long consideration....

It's done. Quite spontaneously and with a short decision we got the 840 yesterday evening. We just couldn't wait any longer.

Now the first test results after extensive testing (we could hardly sleep tonight from so much coffee ):
- Coffee tastes really great
- the machine is really very easy to use, which means: our children can now cook us any coffee without any problems, make themselves tea or hot milk
- the cleaning of the machine is so easy and fast
- the display actually makes any instruction manual unnecessary

We think we have tried everything that can be prepared and are enthusiastic. But when I was on the road yesterday and saw that you can also buy a used car for the price, I got a bit of a brooding...

One problem so far: there is often the display "refill water", although the tank is full. After repeated insertion the error message/request disappears again. Let's see, if this doesn't get better, I'll contact the service. Or does anyone have experience?

Ach, the machine is sooooo beautiful. A real eye-catcher!

@Thomas: Our children are so excited too. Now they only drink hot milk with great foam. Maybe we should get our own cow soon

supplement: I talked to the service today, but they are really as nice as always described. He advised me to take my device to the dealer and test the water tank on site. With a new water tank from the dealer everything worked perfectly. So now we can enjoy completely carefree.

Nivona are the best coffee machines, I can only recommend.
We have the 777, top satisfied.
The important thing is that all spare parts, including brewing unit, can be replaced yourself.
