Thank you very much for your good guidance. Unfortunately the temperature sensor of our model WMF 1000 is about 10 years old, glued in with a black flexible mass, silicone?? and could only be removed in parts. Does anyone have any experience with gluing in a new sensor and checking its function if necessary?

are there any differences between WMF1000S and 1000 per probe replacement? I own a 1000S and want / need to change the steam temperature sensor.

For an exact measurement a good heat transfer must be guaranteed. This is achieved in all sensors with heat-conducting paste. These are available in different colours and mixtures. Sometimes silicone-containing heat-conducting paste is used, which causes the hardening. It can also lead to the paste and sensors being removed piece by piece.

Since all sensors are constructed in approximately the same way and are inserted from above, any heat-conducting paste can be used here. For better processing a small tube is advisable.
