Hello together,

we have our Krups EA 8000 espresso machine since the middle of January and ask ourselves slowly when the cleaning lamp lights up?! The first use is now also almost 2 months ago and I slowly find wird´s then really time for cleaning with tablet and Co.
The cleaning program can not be started without the lamp lights up...

Who of you has the same or similar machine and knows the normal cleaning cycle? Does the machine calculate this according to the number of coffees or time or...? Or does our cleaning lamp just not work?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings,
Judith

What does the manual say about this...? Please have a look there.

The automatic cleaning cycle is calculated according to the number of coffee purchases.

Enclosed is an extract from the operating instructions:

The program of your device will indicate to you
with a display if
the cleaning program must be carried out
. This is the case after about 360
preparations.
You need a
vessel with a capacity of
0.6 liters that fits under the coffee spout
and a KRUPS cleaning pastille
(XS 3000).
The automatic cleaning program
comprises 3 phases: one cleaning cycle
and two rinsing cycles. The program
lasts about 20 minutes.
Info: You can start such a cleaning run
at any time in the "Maintenance
/ Cleaning" menu, independently of the
device message.

Ok, thanks for the info!
Openly I should google after a written instruction...only a picture instruction was attached to my device.
The pictures only show which buttons to press when the cleaning lamp is lit, but apparently gibt´s something more detailed... and I was already swearing what this picture shit is about rolleyes.gif

Just googling. The instruction manual is even deposited here in the forum..

But as already said, obviously the cleaning is not yet due.

So, was now on the Krups page and the manual quoted by Martin comes from the Krups EA 82XX, the newer version with display. My Krups EA8000 has no display, so I can't "start such a cleaning cycle anytime in the menu "Maintenance
/ Cleaning" independently of the device message". Unfortunately...

But I think the approx. 360 preparations up to the cleaning will fit also on my machine and those are definitely not yet reached. So wait and see smile.gif

For my coffee maker only this stupid picture guide mad.gif

I just looked again. Believe with the cleaning and the descaling with your equipment nevertheless only automatically goes.

But try nevertheless times please after switching on the equipment the rinse button for some seconds to press whether you come so nevertheless into a menu.

If you briefly press the rinse button once, the coffee spout is rinsed (with approx. 50 ml water). If pressed for a long time, the milk frothing nozzle is rinsed (with approx. 300 ml water). If everything goes very fast (max. 1 min.), it cannot be about automatic cleaning, which takes 10-15 minutes according to the instructions.

I will simply call Krups and ask if there is still a trick or a cleaning really only works when the lamp is lit.

Nevertheless many thanks! With the detailed manual of the Krups EA 82XX I can now rather guess what the pictures in the EA8000 manual mean ... and I think some things are relatively identical.

How often do you clean your coffee machines? I find after 360 issues a little late... especially if you get about 4 cups a day like we do, so only every 3 months you get 360 full.

The best way is to download the BDA for the XP7200. The EA8000 is the direct successor model.
On the models without display, the cleaning program can only be started when prompted. The descaling program for all models only when requested.
