Hi,
I own the AEG Caffe Silenzio CS5000.
The vending machine ran trouble-free for a long time.
If I want to make a coffee now, only a few drops come out of the dispenser, but at some point it stops this process and the "water tank empty" display flashes. If I press the "Rinse" button or use the frother, the water comes liquid and the "water tank empty" display stops flashing.
When the machine does its rinsing when switched on and off, the water runs perfectly.
Decalcified the machine with two different decalcifiers, screwed the brewer as well as the upper brewing piston completely together and had installed another pump. Without success
Now I am finished with my Latin, I hope you can help me unsure.gif

Did you check the area under the drip stop for limescale?

Hello everyone,
I have the same machine (3 1/2 years old, never had problems) and almost the same problem. The pump became quieter and quieter during the last days and the cup only dripped full. This morning there were only a few drops left until the machine stopped the brewing process and the LED for missing water came on (the tank was full!). The day before yesterday I had completely dismantled, cleaned and reassembled the brewing group. (brewing sieve cleaned, piston rings cleaned etc.) With the cleaning program (also the day before yesterday) the full pressure is there?! But with switching on the rinsing process already does not function correctly, likewise with switching off.
Grinder is set to medium level - so powder is not too fine.
Has someone a tip for solving the problem before I order a cost-intensive repair or even have to buy a successor.

Did you ever decalcify with the cleaning program? If you don't, do it.

Hello Stefan,
I used the descaler "Durgol" for every cleaning cycle. To be honest I didn't dare to use normal vinegar - although, now I guess not much can go wrong sad.gif

Leave out the vinegar, it hasn't lost anything in the fully automatic coffee machine. Get Crest or SHB, they're cheaper. So you also used the cleaning program with every decalcification?

Whenever the service LED lights up I used the cleaning program with the described "Durgol" as recommended descaler.

I have already decalcified via the cleaning program.
Once with a limescale remover and a liquid decalcifier, probably a little stronger, it was bottled by a friend of mine.

Actually, I've never decalcified in any other way. Is it possible to decalcify differently than described in the manual?

I just read in another forum that some machines have a rinsing button/button with which the brewing head can be rinsed with decalcifier. But unfortunately the Silenzio does not own this one. When I press the Rinse/Decalcify button, nothing happens for 5 seconds because the decalcifying program then switches on. Or am I doing something wrong?

What to do?

Pour in descaling solution and press the rinse button frequently.
Overnight effect and always press the button again.

I thought you might have confused the normal decalcifying program with the hidden cleaning program. You call this up by pressing the flush button and the coffee powder button next to it at the same time and keeping them pressed for a few seconds.

Hello Stefan,
Many thanks for the hint. I didn't know this combination of keys.
My automat came to life again.
saved an expensive repair on top of that. There were a lot of things that came out when I was doing the dishes. The flushing does not manage this in any case when switching on and off.
Thank you once again and: hardly you do it right, you're all set's. smile.gif
