Hello,

>first of all merry christmas.

Now my Melitta Caffeo comes instead of nice milk foam only "milk foamplörre". Milk foam unit and everything that belongs to it are always meticulously cleaned.

Had the problem already a few months ago and changed the complete milk unit incl. container and hoses. The problem was solved and the milk foam was firmer again but not as it was at the beginning when the machine was new. But I could live with it.

Now the whole thing starts all over again and just can't believe that it's the milk foam unit etc. again, which I changed a few months ago.

Decalcified the machine already several times although I use the water filter. According to a tip from the forum also with double the amount of decalcifier.

Nevertheless there is no milk foam but only lukewarm milk.

What can I do?

In various spare part coffee shops of fully automatic machines I read that it could also be due to the thermoblock (approx. 30 €) or the ceramic valve (approx. 100-120 €).

Thermoblock:
Hm, the coffee actually has a good temperature. Or how should the temperature of the coffee and the milk foam (äh Milchschaumplörre) be?
Decalcification is also regular.

Ceramic valve:
please not, I find quite expensive considering the fact that the machine is already 3-4 years old and I think for about 150 € the machine can bring to repair. I have read somewhere.

What do you mean?

I would be grateful about suggestions.

Christmas greetings

Well, here's what it could be.
- Heater (calcified, therefore not enough steam pressure) = exchange or multiple decalcification.
- Overflow valve cone seal defective (this causes pressure to be lost via the overflow valve and does not go completely into the ceramic valve for further distribution to the milk foaming system). Solution = new cone gasket + retaining pin.
- Gasket of steam / water inlet to ceramic valve leaking. (due to this, not enough pressure because of pressure loss)
- Air valve clogged on the ceramic valve (has a white retaining cover and sits on the back of the ceramic valve where the hoses are connected). Solution = Remove cover, remove rubber valve, clean and check for permeability.
- Ceramic valve itself blocked. Solution= Screw on, clean. When reassembling, screw in the screws from below (retaining nuts would otherwise not grip) (
- air hose from the ceramic valve to the milk system at the front of the machine clogged). Solution = Remove the hose from the ceramic valve, blow it in and see if it is clogged. If yes, disassemble the outlet incl. milk foam system (press up the retaining clip at the bottom, at the same time pull the complete housing of the outlet box forward, remove the outlet distributor, remove the hoses and lighting, unscrew the milk system distributor, remove the reed sensor, remove the retaining bracket for the outlet mechanism at the top, push the outlet upwards and then downwards, remove the rods... remove the outlet housing (held by magnets) to the front. Accept housing front (2 screws on drip tray + 2 screws where coffee spout was.) Then remove the retaining bracket on the back of the front panel which holds the two hoses and clean the white hose.
- Steam hose from ceramic valve to milk foam system blocked (red hose). Solution see Cleaning the air hose
- Distribution nozzles of the milk system (upper nozzles that can be unscrewed in the outlet housing). Where white and red hose get to) clogged. Solution = Reingen
- Milk system outlet blocked. Solution = Remove the micro foam dispenser (pull out downwards), remove the rubber part, check the way from the milk inlet (where the hose comes in) through the additional air nozzle to the steam inlet for blockage (hold the upper inlets closed with your fingers and blow them into the milk hose). If clogged, clean with a small brush (a small hole must be free between the air inlet and the steam inlet) see User's Post "Andis". Here image:

If all this doesn't help, scrape machine! wink.gif

Hello,
have a new Caffeo CI and from the first use on somehow the same problem.
Rather milkplörre instead of foam.
Milk was once 1.5% and not in the fridge.
Milk was once 3.5% and in the fridge.

Has anyone any advice what we do wrong?

Hello,

I had the same problem.
All tried to replace all parts. Always only partial success.
Now, during the last revision of the machine I finally solved the problem.
Milk foam as on the first day.

The steam nozzle was in the coffee spout.
It is not enough to clean it with a needle or similar.
I pulled off the red hose and with a 2 mm drill and a lot of sure instinct I pushed a lot of dirt out of the nozzle.
Finally I pressed the milk foam button when the hose was pulled off and let the hose blow into a collection container. (This works if you hold the magnet of the milk earrite to the transmitter. ATTENTION Danger of scalding) A lot of lime particles and other deposits were rinsed out, which would otherwise have clogged the nozzle again immediately.

What shall I say?
Half hour of effort, foam as on the first day

Much success
Rudolf

Had the same problem.... but not from the first day on, but only after about 2 years at the tsp....
After I tried a lot to fix it, after about 3 months of annoyance, the thought occurred to me that the problem occurs again and again and then everything is good.... so think about what it may be...
Then it occurred to me that we changed the hose when we got the new milk container.... and tadaaaaaa..... Milkshake as on the first day! Without spitting without problems!

Love greetings
Manu

Is there a manual or diagram somewhere where you can see how to take the unit apart?
If you try that so clueless, you easily break off something, it might otherwise just need to be clipped off if you know HOW and WHERE?!??
