Hello together,

my Krups EA 8000 goes into error 9 after switching on, where all four red lamps flash. Sometime, after 20 - 30 times switching the machine off and on, it is ready to start. However, it can happen that the brewing process stops again with error 9, so I always start with 1-2 rinses first. When that is over, I can make practically unlimited coffee because the error no longer occurs. Only after the machine has cooled down again does the procedure start anew.

Is anyone aware of this error and can help me? Thank you,
Hobi

Hello, had the same error, with an EA 8025.

Clean the flat plugs (I think 3 pcs) on the control board and compress them a bit so that they get back in contact. Then the bug should be fixed.

I'd just write to the manufacturer.

In this code, one or both clamps from the temperature sensor to the brake assembly are soldered out. Clean well, solder at high temperature and then tighten with epoxy.

The sensor is located in front of / in the brew group and is usually protected with a black rubber, can be soldered with a Mittelgrosem soldering iron.

Hello everyone,

I may have the beginnings of an answer to this problem. I myself have a Krups bean-to-cup coffee maker, model EA81P870. Same symptoms, at start-up the 4 red lights start flashing at the same time, then you hear a little tick inside (sounds a bit like a relay), then no way to start a cycle, and of course code 9 error too.

After searching a lot on You...be and on forums I came across an explanation: a problem with the temperature sensor which you can access by dropping the front panel, and which is located behind a black cover. With the help of various videos, I was able to remove the top panel, the one that makes up the rear and side panels, then I removed the front panel. I then noticed that two white cables were coming out of the black cover I mentioned earlier, and that one was moving much more than the other. When I removed the little black cover, I realized that one of the two plugs was no longer in place. I suppose that with time and the vibrations that occur inside such a machine, this lug has come loose (but I don't know how it was really fixed, it seems to have been riveted).

Above you say that it can be re-fixed by soldering ... I'm skeptical about that, would it really work?

Hello everyone,

I was able to make this terminal fit again by simply soldering it.
This is where error 9 came from, and it's now working again.

These terminals fit with a soldering point, but with the vibrations the machine emits when it's running, it's possible that the soldering can break off, which must have been the case for me.

Hello, I have the same problem, when I dismantled my machine the 2 lugs are not attached to the block, I guess they must be? does it solder well? I guess it must be soldered with tin?

Thank you for your answer.

Thanks to everyone in this thread that saved machine from scrap heap...

I was at a complete loss with intermittent four red error lights, eventually found the error code 9 and located the temp sensor tab that had broken off.

Used some regular tin solder to resolder it at high temperature. Can verify the sensor with multimeter in ohm mode shows a resistance between the terminals.

Just to mention that it's a good time to clean and replace the three main seals on the brew group.

All working fine since so al very happy coffee household again. cool.gif
