DeLonghi Magnifica S no longer dispenses water/coffee

We have a D Longhi Magnifica S fully automatic coffee machine. It is now the case that sporadically no water comes out of the machine for rinsing when it is switched on and no water or coffee comes out of the machine when a cup of coffee is pressed. However, the machine hums very quietly as if it wants to pump but cannot. I then unplug the machine and after a few hours it works normally again. After a few days, the same error occurs again. What could be the reason for this? Otherwise, there is nothing unusual about the machine. It's actually been working great since 2017. The only thing that may be noticeable is that there may be a little more liquid in the collection container during normal operation than before. The machine is always filled with water from the Brita filter and it is also meticulously descaled and the brewing unit cleaned on a regular basis. Today it had the error described above during the 2nd rinse after descaling. Just a quiet whirring sound, but no water :-(

The upper brewing piston may be clogged with limescale. This is not descaled. Descaling only takes place via the hot water nozzle.
If water is somehow still coming out of the coffee spout, first try filling the water circuit with descaler by drawing hot water and then pressing the rinse button several times in succession to rinse the upper brewing piston with descaler.

If nothing more comes out, the only option will be to open and dismantle the machine. Maybe you are "lucky" and a line is already closed. rolleyes.gif

Which descaler are you using?

Ok, I reassembled it today (had the collection container etc. in the dishwasher). And it started up normally again. I then put descaler in and rinsed it a few times using the rinse button. I would now leave it to soak for a few hours. But what I've noticed now is that I've rinsed maybe 3 or 4 times and there's already a lot of water in the collection container, which was definitely never that much before. Could it be that a seal is broken? Or is this somehow caused by a pressure relief valve and will perhaps go away once everything has been descaled? Thanks for your help
