Hello everyone.

I'd like some advice, if possible.

I've been using an Italian coffee maker for years, with store-bought ground coffee and coffee beans when I want to take my time.
My partner has had a Senseo for several years too, but would like to upgrade to another machine (I'm pushing her a bit, to be honest).

So I'm interested too smile.gif

We only drink black coffee - espresso and long americano style.
We don't want to put too much money into the machine.
She occasionally drinks decaf, so I figure she can do that in my Italian coffee maker...

What I've seen in machines:
-krups essentiel

-gaggia naviglio which is a bit dated apparently.

-melitta purista

I hadn't selected the last one - Delonghi Magnifica s smart but I read that the machine was not bad. Is this advertising flooding the internet or is it really good?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I would stay away from Krups.
Delonghi is ok so far. The machine basically has the same technology as the larger models. Just less choice of beverages.
The Gaggia is apparently a Saeco. They also make very good coffee.
In my opinion, the Delonghi is the easiest to repair if something were to happen.
I find the Saeco more durable.

The Melitta has tried and tested technology, but I personally wouldn't buy it anyway.

Please stay away from Krups, even if they are a bit better now.
The Gaggia Naviglio is a Saeco Intelia. They run quite reliably, but the display light tends to fail from time to time and replacements are now hard to come by.

DeLonghi is also quite sophisticated.
Melitta uses almost identical technology to Bosch/Siemens and Nivona.
