I would like to buy a Melitta Solo (at approx. 350,-).
Who has experience?
Is the machine recommended.
Is the cleaning of the brewing unit really as good as the sellers present it, or are they sensitive and quickly break down?

Who can tell me about his experience?

Hello,

I have a Melitta Caffeo Bistro. This is the same as the brewing group and only differs from yours by a different exterior and the missing milk frother.

The brewing group is indeed very good and can be cleaned easily and completely. I have had the machine for a long time and have never had any problems with it.

My experience with the brewing group: It is simply great! Easy to remove, clean and re-use!

I bought myself a solo two weeks ago. As with the larger Melitta Caffeo, the brewing group is easy to clean. I can only recommend this thing. Top technology, great quality and much more compact than most other fully automatic machines. Super!

If I have seen this correctly, the new Melitta vending machines are technically identical with Bosch, Siemens and Nivona.

the solo is a good device, but the lattea is identical in construction, a little more expensive, but has this magnetic milk pitcher as CLOU
.
simple class, have a look at the advertising film

Hello,

we've been soloing for five weeks now. This is a sensational machine because it is inexpensive, compact and easy to operate.

The coffee gets absolutely hot, the strength can be regulated in three steps and additionally the amount of water.

I am not a disadvantage of not having a milk shiner. We prepare the milk by hand with the Bodum frother. It is also quick and easy to clean.

Apropo cleaning. This is very easy with the Solo. Disadvantage is only a small one: There is only one bean container. In order to test different types of coffee, it must always be empty. This is better solved with the Bistro/Lounge.

All in all Melitta has made a good litter here. Was bitterly necessary, too, after the experience. I mean, the grinder comes from the Jura-Schmiede.

Fazit: Whoever is looking for a cheap fully automatic machine is very well looked after with the Solo. It's time to pay attention to actions. Media Amrkt had the once for 278,- offer in the week from5.2.-12.2. 2010 for 299.-. Shipper for approx. 350,-

Hello and a good evening,

we bought a solo today, at Mediamarkt in Hameln 279€. The list price is 399€. Bargain...
Espresso beans from Mille Soli (Silver packaging price less than 10€).

Previously we had a Rowenta. List price 369€

I was always enthusiastic about the Rowenta. But the not removable brewing unit... well, a shortcoming. And after about a year the enthusiasm kept within limits.

To put it bluntly, the espresso in the Rowenta was different.

The solo is limited to the essentials. Very very good espresso and easy operation.

With simple handles you can remove and clean the brewing group.

Long speech short sense: You can only recommend the Melitta Caffeo solo.
class machine, super price.

Hello!

I also bought a caffeo solo, because it has everything I need, or not has what I do not need. biggrin.gif
moreover i like that it's not too big (probably because of the missing milk frother)

but unfortunately we took the wrong box when we bought it, our solo is defective.

see here: caffeo solo defective waterpunpe?

doesn't want to discourage anyone from buying now, was just bad luck, can probably happen at any manufacturer. is just annoying, because I had to send them in now and have to wait for at least 14 days for it.
and i also have a repaired machine from day one. hope it's not a "monday device"

Hallo.

As I myself am grateful for every experience report I wanted to use the opportunity to write something as a guest.

I also wanted to buy a small vending machine because under the usual screen holders no pumps fit.... egal.
In any case I became aware of the solo by an offer 299€ and in principle exactly what I want: Only hot coffee!
Machine times looked at and then in the net something for info searched.

And so I also came across this contribution here.

I bought a solo yesterday and wanted to try it out right away.
I had the same problem as Mandi: Not a drop of coffee comes out of the outlet, the coffee lands completely in the drip tray!
So lucky... I knew it!

Machine packed and today in the shop.
Return or exchange money? I already wanted to exchange but would like to try the next one in the shop.
That was no problem: Next solo unpacked, water and beans pure, switched on... But the two shop assistants looked at it.

But it doesn't matter: One still stands there!
Unpacked, beans and water in... switched on, wait a moment... and it runs perfectly!

And I have it at home now and the first 10 cups are already through.

Why the brand-new machines don't deliver a drop of coffee is funny. Maybe something was wrongly mounted on a tape in the factory?

Despite the fact that it was supposed to have worked during the final inspection with coffee and water in the factory.
For the quality control at Melitta a poor testimony!

Nevertheless I took the solo with me. And it works now (hopefully quite long).

I would advise everyone to try the device in the shop. That takes 15 minutes and you wear a working solo home in good conscience and save yourself packing, driving, exchanging, etc... the stress just!

Coffee is really nice and hot, you turn it off completely (0 Watt), it's foolproof to use, the brewing group is easy to remove and install and it's nice and small.

Greetings.

Hoffi - You are not alone.

I wrote the following mail to Melitta Customer Service:

"Melitta doesn't work - or does it?" OR "The final inspection takes place at the customer's premises"

Last week I purchased a Melitta CAFFEO SOLO E 950-103 (KVA) from an Internet retailer. After connecting the KVA - as described in the instructions - and filling it with water and coffee beans, I switched it on and it didn't work. The symbols for the coffee beans flash on the display for 10 seconds - then the machine has switched off. A call to Melitta's customer service showed that the brewing group had probably gone and that I should have the KVA exchanged at the Internet dealer.

As luck would have it, a colleague of mine bought the same machine this time from the same Internet dealer CAFFEO SOLO E 950-101 at the same time. Same here: The beans flash on the display for 10 seconds and the machine switches off.

"I'm not stupid," my colleague thought and then drove to the local media market and had two CAFFEO SOLOs demonstrated there. Both did not work, but this time there was another error: Both machines did not draw water (probably pump defective, serial number unknown).

The next day my colleague went back to Media Markt and wanted to look for alternatives to the CAFFEO SOLO. But they didn't really exist. Either they were too big (Delonghi), did not look good (Delonghi) or the coffee spout was too low (Delonghi). Once again he had a CAFFEO SOLO demonstrated to him and it worked! Although four machines didn't work, he bought them directly, because it wasn't so easy to find this one that worked

My colleague called me and said: "You have to be crazy enough to buy a waste incineration plant that only works with the 5th machine". "I thought I was as crazy as my colleague for a long time! and then I went to Media Markt to try my luck. I had a CAFFEO SOLO demonstrated to me and it worked - luckily for me. I also bought them directly. However, my confidence in the machine was a little shaken ("How can I ever trust this machine?"), so I took out an additional Media Markt 5-year warranty at the insistence of the seller.

The machines are now at home, making a fantastic coffee (great crema, very good temperature), are super processed (good haptics, very good material appearance, perfect gap dimensions) and we are very satisfied. The two defective waste incineration plants are on their way back to the Internet dealer and will soon be in your shop.

Naturally we ask ourselves - but actually we ask you:
1. Have we only had unbelievable bad luck that these problems - as with other customers from Internet forums - have never occurred before?
2. Does Melitta not have a final check or is it currently completely on short-time?
3. What will "Melitta's" say about what we have experienced in the last few days?
4. how will "Melitta's" react or answer?

>br>Laid in joyful expectation of your answer remain

The colleague (...) and I (...)

The answer of Melitta was then less eloquent and somewhat disappointing:

Venerable Sir (...)),

We very much regret that you had reason to complain about your Melitta household appliances.

As a small compensation we send you 1x coffee each as a gesture of goodwill.

Dear Melitta customers, we hope you are satisfied with our service. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the following telephone number: (....).

Best regards

> (...)

>You could have expected a bit more from Melitta.

Despite everything, a clear purchase recommendation for the SOLO. In the price range there is nothing better and the whole milk frothing process is totally overrated in my opinion. Microwave ovens and manual foaming are unbeatable in daily practice.

And in addition, proven Siemens technology sits inside the Melitta. The similarities to TK 58001 can hardly be overlooked.

Hello, bought me a solo two weeks ago. Coffee tastes fantastic.
However, I have another problem with my machine:
After switching on, rinsing and drawing 3 cups of coffee, the drip tray is about to overflow, the marc floats in the water that accumulates in the marc container. I took the solo straight back to the dealer. He just told me that was normal. So I call the Melitta Service Center: that's what the manufacturer wants, so that the machine is always rinsed thoroughly: 45 ml of water per cover in the drip tray is correct. With me it is 280 ml after 3 cups incl. rinsing. I could still live with that, since my solo is in the kitchen right next to the sink. But all that water in the marc container - I would call it mud - can't be normal ?
How is that with you ?

Hello Ruth!

mh, sounds strange. So it is also the case that there is a lot of water in the drip tray compared to other machines. However, the water has never overflowed, so it always turns out that I clean the machine when it is indicated to me.

However, I have never had any liquid in the pomace container. Every now and then it happens that the last "coffee cake" falls into the drip tray, but that's it then already.

as others say?

I've been hit too. We had a DeLonghi, but I didn't like it because of the design. The Melitta looks good and I caught exactly the wrong box. The plant doesn't pump. But it doesn't make any loud noises. Had I read the many bug reports here before, I would have decided otherwise.
I would not have expected the quality level from Melitta. I'm very disappointed.
