Hello, guys!
Wants to say something about the EQ5 Macchiatto, the seller and manufacturer:
Get the machine for Christmas (in silver):
The first few days it still worked quite well - then suddenly no hot water supply, no sensible milk foaming, the drip tray was always full of hot water, it hissed and banged and the mechanics in the brewing unit sounded as if it was breaking...
Ok, off to Media Markt: Refusal to give me a new device, so sent to Siemens. Was repaired, according to Siemens.
Now two days after receipt (took 11 days) I unfortunately have to find out that I either have a Monday machine or the machine itself is scrap:
Sometimes the coffee seems as if it were only colored water!
Will say: Crema that immediately disintegrates and a taste that makes every instant coffee a gourmet drink.
The beans can't be the cause, are from Heimbs "San Marco", so already something of higher value... and two other types we have also tested.
The instantaneous water heater makes terrible noises and the mechanics pop again.
Furthermore there is often a loud "pop" when the brewing chamber seals.
Not that this is always the case, but sporadically one or more of the mentioned points occur.
Call to Siemens. I described it again and was told that they could be repaired - instead of offering me a new device. (I was even promised that I would do this three times, as the German Civil Code provides for this. Surely correct, I also know, but customer friendliness and complaint management in the sense of the customer look completely different.)
PROS:
-Design
-easy operation, everything self-explanatory
very quickly ready to use
height-adjustable spout
if the milk foaming works, the foam is super (but too cool mMn). Of course you should use very low-fat milk)
If the espresso/coffee cover works, it also tastes good
CONTRA:
-coffee sporadically very watery (even on "strong")
-sounds (pops, hissing, pops...)...)
-coffee mMn by far not hot enough, milk as well (With coffee it still works, with espresso I find it awful if it is too cool - even with a preheated cup). And yes: I set the temp. to "high" in the menu.
>Finally, I have to say that the complaints handling at Media Markt and Siemens is under every gun - no concessions on my suggestion to give me a new device. A machine that after a week of use and after the first repair still makes such "mosquitoes" is clearly a "Monday machine" and does not belong to the customer, but to the Siemens laboratory for analysis!
I hope for all those who have an EQ5 that our device is the big exception.
The customer is in trouble, has to do without his device for weeks and drive through the area.
The lady in the Siemens call center (which is also common for BOSCH products) had no idea and simply went through the points for troubleshooting in the operating manual - as if I hadn't done this before... -__-
>Can now either drive the machine to MM 15km away or have it picked up by Siemens (or GLS) - but then I have to be at home from 8-18 o'clock all the time.
So you should only handle the complaint with Siemens if you can -however- be at home all day long! A luxury that is not granted to everyone who has to earn money to be able to afford such a device! ;-)
Fazit for me: Never again Media Markt, never again Siemens. Apparently the Italians can do a lot better. This includes not only pasta and pizza, but also everything that has to do with coffee... :-)
Sorry, if the entry reads badly, but I'm pissed off.
But who knows - maybe the service is intentionally so bad, so that the customers don't even get tempted to complain about something... :-D
I continue to report, maybe I will become a fan of the machine after all...
