Carimali, a manufacturer based in Bergamo, Italy, has presented an extension for its fully automatic coffee machine series. Under the name CariCARE, customers can remotely control the coffee machine with their own smartphone and thus no longer need to use the display of the fully automatic coffee machine.

For this purpose, a QR code is scanned with the mobile phone, which is attached to the machine. This code refers to a Carimali website where the selectable products of the coffee machine are displayed. The order is then sent directly from the mobile phone to the machine and the coffee is prepared.

The advantage of this is that on highly frequented coffee machines, such as at airports or train stations, the display is not touched by many people as usual. In pandemic times, this would otherwise have to be disinfected again after each order. That the coffee orderer needs a smartphone with internet connection to order a coffee, although he is standing directly in front of the machine, is therefore probably only imaginable in Corona times. Of course, anyone who wants to can still have their favourite coffee prepared directly at the machine.
