Since 11 November, the new Qbo Edition coffee beans from Tchibo have been available: filter coffee and Caffé Crema, both mild and strong. This time the beans come from Kenya.
Qbo beans are harvested three times a year. The current edition comes from the cooperative Baragwi from Kenya. Qbo, which consists of Q (for Cube: cube) and bo (for bean), is a brand of the Tchibo Group. The beans come from changing cooperatives. In this way, Tchibo wants to support the working conditions of small farmers, according to a company press release.
The Baragwi cooperative in Kirinyaga County, Kenya, has been growing coffee since 1953. At the foot of the Mount-Kenya massif, at altitudes of 1,700 to 1,800 meters, lie the humidest regions of the country. Two rainy seasons per year make the area perfect for growing coffee. After the selection process, the beans are fermented overnight, then carefully washed and finally sorted and dried.
The selling price of the new Qbo coffees is around 4.99 euros per 250-gram package. They will be available from 11 November - in all Tchibo branches, in the online shop and in over 150 selected depots. Only while stocks last.
