The Geislingen-based coffee machine manufacturer WMF brings the possibility of remote control by mobile phone for its fully automatic self-service machines. The concept is similar to that of Carimali. However, the implementation seems to be more successful at WMF, since the QR code required to control the machine is generated and displayed directly on the machine display and not, as with CARIcare, by a manually printed code next to the machine.

The customer scans the QR code with the mobile phone and is thus connected to the machine. This concept also offers the advantage of completely contactless ordering. This means that the machine can also be operated in times of a pandemic without having to disinfect the display after each customer. The comfort in the selection of beverages directly on the touch screen is considerably higher and also with "WMF SmartRemote" still possible at any time.
