Alt Wien Hawaii Kona Captain Cook Moki’s Farm

Manufacturer product description

The history of Hawaiian coffee begins in 1817 when the first plants from South America were planted. However, coffee growing did not begin to develop as an economic factor until the end of the 19th century with the import of Guatemalan coffee plants. Small family farms have always been at the centre of this development. In recent years, Kona and Kau coffees from Big Island have rightly earned themselves a place among the best coffees in the world. We get this coffee directly from paradise, exclusively from the small farmers Vivian and Roger Rittenhouse from Mokis Farm. The farm is located on the Hawaiian island of Big Island in the province of Kona in the town of Captain Cook, about 700m above the Pacific Ocean. Pleasant temperatures all year round, a wonderful view and Roger's caring hands make the beans thrive so well here that he regularly takes part in the local coffee competitions. Perhaps his success is due to the fact that he is a follower of the Beaumont-Fukunaga method of coffee tree pruning. It's a coffee to sit down and think about, almost like an expensive green tea. In order to be able to offer our customers always piece of paradise, we looked for and found a more favorable transport way. In addition, we are now taking a quarter of the (small) harvest from this farm. Thus we can offer the coffee permanently reduced in price by € 25.00 instead of € 39.90. Medium-bodied, creamy-soft body, balanced, aromas of butter biscuit, almond and green olive oil, dense floral finish with mint notes. 100% Arabica
