The Maragogype bean is much larger than a conventional Arabica bean, which earned it the nickname'elephant bean'. Our Maragogype Liquidambar from Mexico has a balanced character with fine acidity and light fruit tones and has a very pleasant mildness. The beans enjoyed great popularity around 1900 in France and at the German imperial court, where only coffee made from elephant beans was used.
