Manufacturer product description

Kariru is located in the west of Kirinyago district, south of the famous Mount Kenya. Kariru is home to about 3000 people and has more than 300,000 coffee plants. The coffee varieties are SL 34 and SL 28. The coffee grows at an altitude between 1700 - 1800 meters on rich volcanic, sandy soil. The coffee plant flowers in March and April and the coffee berries are harvested between November and December. After harvesting, the coffee berries are taken to the 'washing station' in Baragwi. The coffee berries are processed according to the washed method and are then placed on high beds in the sun to dry. The annual production of the plantation is 417 tons of coffee berries per year.
