It is the southernmost and most productive province of the country. The region is known for the ideal climatic conditions for the cultivation of coffee. This is partly due to the high cultivation height of 1600 - 1900 metres, abundant rainfall and partly to the optimum temperature and fertile soil. Washed sidamos are usually high-quality coffees with unique flavors such as sweet, fruity, lemony and floral, and an ideal balance between acidity and body. Some therefore often compare it to coffee from the Yirgacheffe region.
