This coffee grows on particularly mineral-rich soil, which reveals its first-class aroma and its noble fullness. The noble body and its expressive sweetness with a light earthy taste give the Sumatra Double Pick its special touch. Coffee production on the island of Sumatra began as early as the 18th century under Dutch colonial rule. A chain of volcanoes stretches along the west coast of the island, whereby the island itself is repeatedly hit by heavy volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and seaquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire. The island, marked by the monsoon, is extremely fertile and famous for its coffee. The coffee beans are hand-picked, selected and sun-dried to ensure the high quality aroma. Most of the harvest is exported to Japan and Germany.
