The largest coffee bean in the world (about 40% larger than conventional Arabica beans). At the best sunny altitudes of 700 - 1200m, this rarity, one of the world's best coffees, is hand-picked, fermented and air-dried. The European royal houses and the court of the German Emperor preferred the MARAGOGYPE elephant beans. I wonder why. The giant beans should only be roasted very carefully and lightly in order to elicit their full-bodied, unique aroma. This coffee is unsuitable for industrial roasting, its careful treatment is only carried out in those few small speciality roasting plants, to which our house also belongs.
