El Mandarino is a very complex coffee with a distinct body, a light fruity note towards tangerine and peach, a little chocolaty and a great finish. The Hacienda La Claudina is located in Ciudad Bolivar, a traditional Colombian coffee village about 100 km southwest of Medellín. The plantation covers about 18 ha (16 ha of which is coffee) and has its own processing plant. The mixture of altitude, warm and humid mountain wind from the Choco rainforest and fertile volcanic soils produce our exclusive highland coffee. La Claudina is situated at an altitude of 1300 to 1780 m and consists of 4 plots (La Yuca, Mandarino, La Caña, Los Andes), which differ in height and soil conditions. The coffee is 100% fully washed arabica and consists mainly of the Colombian variety Castillo, which is characterized by its resistance to diseases. The harvest takes place between September and December. During this time, almost 60 plantation workers take care of the sorting of the ripest beans by one hundred percent manual work.
