Vee´s Kaffeerösterei Jamaika `Blue Mountain`

Manufacturer product description

Real Jamaica "Blue Mountain" is one of the most expensive coffees in the world - a "Chateaux Petrus" or a "Le Pin" among coffees, a coffee with cult status, around which myths entwine. Whether the high price of the rare commodity is in the right proportion to the increased drinking pleasure, everyone must decide for himself. Apart from that, real `Blue Mountain` made from the best blue-green green coffee is a treat for every connoisseur. The first coffee plants were brought by the French from Martinique to Jamaica in 1728. Today, the Blue Mountain cultivation region on Jamaica consists of only 6000 hectares, so that all the coffee labelled with Blue Mountain cannot have grown there. Real Jamaica Blue Mountain grows under ideal climatic conditions in the centre of the eastern part of the island on the volcanic southern slopes of the up to 2300m high'Blue Mountains' that run through the island from west to east. The best Blue Mountain coffee comes almost exclusively from smaller plantations with coffee terraces in the higher mountains, such as Wallenford, Silver Hill or Atlanta. We consider the coffee from the Wallenford coffee plantation to be currently the best'Blue Mountain'. The government of Jamaica insisted for a long time that the entire Blue Mountain harvest be roasted in Jamaica. Today Jamaica also exports green coffee. Most of the harvest is sold to Japan. In Tokyo's first-class restaurant, up to 40 euros are now charged for a cup of a real `Blue Mountain`. Jamaica Blue Mountain is harmonious and balanced, has a soft, medium fullness with noble, sweetish acidity and aromas of nuts, pineapple and citrus fruits. 100% Premium Blue Mountain Arabica certified by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica.
