Whether the high price of the rare commodity is in the right proportion to the increased drinking pleasure, everyone must decide for himself. Apart from that, real `Blue Mountain` made from the best blue-green green coffee is a treat for every connoisseur. The first coffee plants were brought by the French from Martinique to Jamaica in 1728. Today, the Blue Mountain cultivation region on Jamaica consists of only 6000 hectares, so that all the coffee labelled with Blue Mountain cannot have grown there. Real Jamaica Blue Mountain grows under ideal climatic conditions in the centre of the eastern part of the island on the volcanic southern slopes of the up to 2300m high'Blue Mountains' that run through the island from west to east.
